We had the same conversation at least five times at SXSW. Someone said they really wanted to sign Sea Wolf and then someone else said, “Hey did you see the list of ‘wolf’ bands he posted on his MySpace page?”

Background for those of you who aren’t blog-o-philes: Sea Wolf is the new project of Alex Church, formerly of Irving. It includes cameos from the likes of Brian Canning and Aaron Burrows of Irving; Tanya Hayden; Scott McPherson who has played with Elliott Smith, Neil Finn & Rhett Miller; and more. His live line-up consists of even more of the Silverlake music scene, including members of the Silversun Pickups and Great Northern, as you’ll likely recognize in the video below.

The dreamy pop EP Get to the River Before It Runs Too Low has become one of our favorites (and Picacasso’s and MYOKB’s and Blogs Are For Dogs and Rock Insider and all our most admired blogs, really) so we are very pleased to bring your the first Seal Wolf video, turned around quickly via some corporate synergy with iFilm. Yes, Viacom do own almost everything but MySpace.
